Ferrari & Maserati crash

Was havin dinner with R and Mr Leroy, when we start chattin abt this recent news recently about the N-S Highway terror ,about how Singapore Ferrari Club members were hit by thugs in Merc.

The main summary of the story goes like this, as many would have known by now.
A fleet of Singapore registered Ferraris and Maseratis were out for a fun drive up to Genting Highlands.

Despite the safety measures of keeping together and the use of walkie talkies, three attempted robberies occured. A black mercedes benz C-class with 2 men, tried to flagged one of the car down. But after seeing all the other cars stopped too, the merc men pretended there was some kind of misunderstanding and they simply drove up.

Story Learnt: When travelling to malaysia in Singapore-registered car, driving with a group does work in protecting each other.

continues...

The stupid 2 drivers of the black Merc tried targeting on another black Maserati, they probably thought since it is not a Ferrari, they are not link to the bunch of Ferrari drivers. Boy they r so wrong.

After stopping 1 Maserati, they realised 2 other Maseratis start appearing and had even stopped to back up, the two thugs were probably like 'uh-oh, outnumbered', and they made off with their Black Merc.

And there was the third guy, the super suay one, drive his lone Ferrari Spyder up to malaysia together with his wife, tryin to catch up with the 2 groups mentioned. In the end, kena chased by the same 2 thugs in Mercedes Benz, but he being suay, lose control of the vehicle and crashed into the railings and another car.

Though i do sympathise with their plight but there r still areas that left me pondering

#1 Why the Driver so kan cheong, haiyo, drive Ferrari still can lose control so easily. Another driver reportedly drive 200kmh in heavy rain too, but still manage to avoid the thugs in Merc. A bit buay zai lor....

#2 I am super brainless in cars, but to my knowledge, shouldn't Ferrari be faster than a Mercedes Benz any day? It shouldn't have take much effort for an experienced driver to overtake a Mercedes Benz right?

Another Ferrari owner has even commented that driving Ferrari's cars to malaysia is an 'open ticket for any robber', I totally disagree with this sentence though, i feel, people should be free to choose which car to drive, coz quite sad already, Singapore has no long stretch of road, and also i dun believe Malaysia itself doesn't sells Ferrari lor, than lidat Malaysian ppl also cannot drive their Ferrari out lar, open ticket mah.

Anyway i simply feel its another case of Malaysian hittin on Singaporeans again.
