Batam Trip Part 2

In order to save on time I shall summarise the rest of my Batam trip details,

Pros of Batam trip
-Good service staff (+1pt)

-Location near to Ferry Terminal (+1pt)

-Spacious and Clean Air-conditioned Resort room with Bath tub & Balcony (+1pt)

-Short waiting time for foot reflexology in resort and cheap price, good service. (+1pt)

-Great H spa service staff(+1pt)

-Paid for a 30 min Herbal Bath Bath, had a 15% disc, and there was no disturbance even when time’s up, in the end we soak in the bath for 1 hour plus, super shiok. Spend: S$21(+1pt)

-Free Jacuzzi and sauna usage. (+1pt)
-Native seafood restaurant was just 2 mins away. The restaurant staff even helped sent us back with their own Hyundai car, paid him S$2 as a small token. (+1pt)

-Quick thinking Harris Resort staff drove us to nearest ferry terminal at Batam Center so that we could catch the 1450 ferry. (+1pt)

-Went for a swim and resort personnel provided clean wet towels and tidbit in a basket for us while we were basking under the sun by the poolside. (+1pt)

-Harris Pan Pizza was great! Really thin, really crispy. Had it for lunch before we depart back to Singapore, the pizza comes with my package (+1pt)

Total: 11 pts

Cons of Batam Trip
-Hot Water automatic turns lukewarm after letting it run for 10mins in the bath tub, resulting in a full bath tub of cold water, coz by the time it’s fully filled; the lukewarm water has already turn cold. (-1pt)

-Resort personnel took our passport but did not get them chopped, resulting in all of us being detained at the ferry checkpoint during departure. Delayed departure as 1420 ferry departed without all of us. (-3pts)

-Free Jacuzzi heater was spoilt, and to contend ourselves with a cold Jacuzzi instead, thank god the water was just cold but not freezing.(-1pt)

-Lousy seafood at their nearby native restaurant, Delima seafood restaurant. Price per dish is about S$4 onwards, so its pretty typical Singapore seafood price. Thot it wld be cheaper due to the unfreshness and their closeness to the sea but answer is NOT.(-1pt)

-Experience stupidity from their Taxi drivers. We were informed by resort staff that the ride to Delima shld cost just S$2, but the uncle insist on having S$4, we refused and he asked another taxt driver to take us instead, upon boarding than this another driver insist the fare is S$3 and he tried to prove his point of justifying the S$3 fare by showing us this chart that wrote “min booking 3 hours”, we were like???!!??. End up we paid S$3. (-1pt)

- Buffet breakfast has little variety. And my favorite breakfast cereal was displayed only after I had almost finished my meal. I ate 2 bowls. (-1pt)

Total -8 pts

Therefore my overall conclusion…. Batam is a great place for spa and relaxation, but for shopping pls do reconsider. As the prices for their food and clothing is alike Shopping in JB.
