Batam Trip Part 1

Back from Batam trip la.

Didn’t have any drama mama moments, overall it was pretty good. The service standard of the resort staff was excellent. Without them I think our trip won’t be half as pleasant. Didn't have much photos now, coz camera is with R, we didn't took much anyway, dunno y also.

We went to the ferry terminal early in the morning on Sat, our ferry was 0930 and we reach at 0830 but already there was a long queue. We were worrying at first whether there is any more seats left for the 0930 ferry coz there are really many people there. But wah bai白担心一场coz the tour agency had already reserved seats for us, we just had to collect our tixs and our white card which had our names printed on it.
My ferry tix, white card and boarding pass

Nearly didn’t have time for breakfast if not for the fact that the nice lady at Harbour front help arrange us to seat this ferry that goes direct to our destination and depart 40mins later than our 0930 ferry.

At the Waterfront Center, Batam, we were warmly welcomed by the staff from Harris –Resort, they even had a special counter by themselves, so while the rest of the ferry passengers were queuing up slowly one by one to get their passport stamped, we just had to past our passport to the resort staff and they will settle it for us. In less than a minute upon reaching Batam, we were happily whisked off to the resort. Imagine our delight, when we realize than Harris-Resort is just 3 mins drive away.

I had expected an old old, building, or perhaps something very kampong and very down, coz the price we paid was like one of the lowest among all. But no~~ Harris-Resort is like a hotel, a small 3-star hotel. It was very clean and bright, the staff were all dressed smartly in their trademark orange safari looking uniform, and every staff carried a warm sincere smile on their face. Many of the guys even sported orange bandana on their head or wrist, which even more adds on to their sunshine appearance. Upon checking in, the recap actually escorted us all the way to our room, which came as a surprise to us, coz there were many other tourist and they had to go up to their room by themselves. We rewarded the nice staff with a S$2, we didn’t give more coz we had done a research online previously and it seems that a tip of S$2 is the correct just right amount. The staff look very happy with the tip so I guess the people on forum were right.

Well~ we slacked in the room for about near to an hour before we started receeing the place. It was just 10 plus(batam time) in the morning, and we had completely no idea how to spend our morning. The spa was all fully booked and the Bus that takes us to Nagoya is scheduled at 2pm!!! The resort was pretty deserted, and hardly any soul was seen ard the place. In the end, we waited for our turn outside Harris foot reflexology for about 20 mins, and had a 30mins foot reflex that cost us just S$10 each !!

The foot reflex was really good, a little painful but good, its painful coz I think my calf muscles is too fat, haiz….So we roam around after that on an empty stomach, coz food in the resort cost $10 and above and we do not wish to waste unnecessarily.

Nearly got murdered by R, dat smart aleck.

R tried pulling a Kungfu panda stint on me, he did a high kick but his leg landed too fast had ended up smacking me right on my head, my neck gave a loud crack and both of us had a huge shock. I had really really thot im gonna sprain my neck or like faint on the spot, but goodness gracious i didn’t. Wah lao, I already so short, I think after this kick, im like shorten by another 1cm lidat man.

This is how we looked. I am really lousy at drawing, so pls pardon me. Saw how helpless i look in the picture.

Well anyways~

We boarded the bus to Nagoya and had looked forward to a good shopping trip but alas we were told by the bus driver we had only 3 hours. We went for a 1.5 hours full body Bali massage which cost just S$14!! If not for the time restrained, we would have chosen the 2 hours massage coz it just cost S$2 more. 2 hrs massage is S$16, 1.5hrs is S$14 and 1 hr massage is $10. It is situated at the top floor, and is a family entertainment centre so its pretty safe.

I had thot that Nagoya Hill shopping Centre was gonna be this place which has really dirt cheap stuff but ner-oh~~ the dresses there cost like almost S$30, and their normal average top cost S$22!! I didn’t bought any clothes there, coz the designs are pretty common. Food there cost about Rp180,000 which is about S$3 onwards, pretty typical Singapore price.

I saw this toy store that sells many qi zai but they came in different sizes, the qi zai was so UGLY!!! It’s the super fake kind in which Qi Zai has really really ugly eyes, the eyes are all very eyeliner look.

Anyway~

This entry is very long le I shall continue tml, very tired le.
